Omaha

Omaha, NE. What happens when the Nebraska League of Conservation Voters, Citizens Climate Lobby and local conservatives pack into a room with a new member of Congress and a former member of Congress? Well, a good discussion follows. It helps that Nebraska LCV is more conservative than the national folks, that CCL is always encouraging, that the new member of Congress is a very accomplished, open-to-learning, retired Air Force general and that the former member of Congress (that would be me) gets to talk a lot.

The 200 folks in attendance on that misty, gray Saturday afternoon got to hear Congressman Don Bacon (R-NE2) looking for a way forward in a purplish congressional district. I probably sounded a bit too conservative for some in attendance, but all seemed excited about a simple price on carbon dioxide.
